れます。
一昨年の日本に引き続き、イタリアのトリエステで開催されることになりまし
た。この分野はまさに日進月歩の進展を見せております。
アブストラクトの締め切りは5月7日となっております。

                     LEEM-PEEM 6 - Trieste, 7-11 September 2008
                             REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

We are pleased to announce that the registration for LEEM-PEEM 6 is now
open.
Visit http://www.elettra.trieste.it/leempeem6 for details. Following the
instructions provided on the leempeem6 website you will be able to
create your user account, submit or modify an abstract and obtain the
latest conference information.

IMPORTANT DEADLINES

* Abstract submission: May 7, 2008.

* Standard registration: July 7, 2008. You are kindly requested to pay
your fee before this date.

* Late registration will be possible starting July 8 through September 11.

REGISTRATION FEES

* REGULAR 250 Euro (Late registration 350 Euro).
* STUDENT 125 Euro (Late registration 225 Euro).

The registration fee includes social dinner, lunch buffets and coffee
breaks.
Additional tickets can be purchased upon request.

A number of social events are planned to promote informal interactions
and introduce attendees to the City of Trieste and its surroundings.

CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

The LEEM-PEEM6 conference proceedings will appear as a dedicated issue
of the Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter. The authors are requested
to submit their manuscripts using the IOP website at the latest before
the end of September 2008.

PROGRAM

The LEEM-PEEM6 program will follow the format of the previous meetings.
The workshop will highlight the most recent scientific advances as well
as instrumental developments. Topics will cover thin films, steps on
surfaces, magnetism, time resolved LEEM/PEEM, surface science,
nanostructures, two-photon photoemission, applications of XPEEM in
biology, geology and medicine and other subject areas.

INVITED SPEAKERS

Five distinguished Guest speakers will give lectures on subjects from
related research fields.

* prof. dr. Abdul R. Faruqi, MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology,
Cambridge, United Kingdom.

* prof. dr. Eugen E. Krasovskii, Institut fu"r Theoretische Physik und
  Astrophysik, Universitaet Kiel , Germany.

* prof. dr. Robert Schloegl, Fritz-Haber-Institut der Max Planck
Gesellschaft, Department for Inorganic Chemistry, Berlin, Germany.

* prof. dr. Darrell G. Schlom, Department of Materials Science and
Engineering, Penn State University, USA.
